ICAI New Course
ICAI is a statutory body which offers Chartered Accountancy Course (CA). It is a Professional course which most of the students dream of as their career. “CA” is just two Letters for someone but comprises many Emotions. ICAI offers best subjects in their course content as per the changing needs of the economy so that students when they step into the practical world excel and expand their knowledge. Now, ICAI again decided to change its syllabus so that it can meet the requirement globally.

Let’s discuss in brief :
Number of Papers:
Foundation Level - 4 Papers
Inter Level - 6 Papers (Two groups having 3 Paper each)
Introduction of 4 self-paced modules
Final Level - 6 Papers (Two groups having 3 Paper each)
Launch Self-Paced Online Modules:
Introduction of 4 self-paced online modules having diversified subjects fields.
One can learn at their own speed and as per their convenience after Intermediate level.
Pattern of Assessment
Foundation Level – 50% Subjective & 50% Objective
Inter Level – 30% case scenario/MCQ & 70% descriptive questions.
Final Level - 30% case scenario/MCQ & 70% descriptive questions.
Mandatory Multi-disciplinary case study Paper.
Revalidation
Foundation Level – Validation for 4 years , No Revalidation.
Inter Level - Validation for 5 years, Revalidation allowed once.
Final Level - Validation for 10 years, Revalidation allowed once.
Passing Criteria
Foundation Level – 50% in each paper(25% negative marking for each wrong answer to MCQ in Paper 3 & 4).
Inter Level - 40% in each paper & 50% aggregate to pass the group(25% negative marking for each wrong answer to MCQ).
Final Level - 40% in each paper & 50% aggregate to pass the group(25% negative marking for each wrong answer to MCQ).
Eligibility for appearing at different levels of examination.
Foundation Level – After appearing in class 12th examination and completion of 4 months study period.
Inter Level – After completion of 8 months study period entering through Foundation route or Direct Entry route.
Final Level - - After Passing Intermediate Level.
- After completion of all 4 self-paced Modules.
- Completion of 2 years of practical training.
- Completion of Management and Communication skills (MCS) & Advanced ITT.
- After completion of 6 months From 2 years practical Training and above mentioned training.
Exemption
Anyone scoring more than 60 Marks in any paper then that paper will be treated as exempt, candidate scoring exemption will have to pass the remaining exam within the next 3 attempts. The exemption will remain valid, subject to the passing marks of 50% in each paper.
Intermittent Exit Route
Students who complete their Intermediate level and not able to complete Final may apply for Business Accounting Associate (BAA) after complying prescribed criteria.
Applicability
ICAI is all set to launch its new syllabus but some mandatory approval is yet to be received, so till now there is no official notification but it is expected that the official notification will come by end of June 2023.
Conclusion
ICAI continuously strives to strengthen the system of education and training to enable Chartered Accountant aspirants to develop skills and knowledge that is required globally. So, students are advised to keep faith in the institute as new changes are made for the benefit of the students.
